In pairs, the players can work on both the active and the passive first touch, along with the good and accurate push pass. The exercise can be done on both the right and left side.
Before the exercise you should have a talk about which possibilities a player has, when he/she receives the ball. The ball can be made passive, if it is stopped completely, but it can also remain active by being pushed in your desired direction using the push pass or the flick pass. Furthermore, it would be a good time to talk about when to use the passive or the active first touch. In this exercise the push pass is the obvious choice.
