The ability to react quickly, having fast feet, and being able to kick well with both feet are important skills for a player in the shooting phase. This exercise focuses on the instep drive. This exercise addresses these skills for this age level.
The player stands in front of the coach, who serves a high ball. When the player registers the ball, he/she is to quickly and promptly shoot using an instep drive. The ball is served both to the right and left foot. Talk to the players about how to perform correct runs and instep drives.
