This exercise contains many aspects on a given system of play. Focus is on quality of passes using both the hard, accurate push pass, the important and difficult support pass, along with passing to a 3rd player. Another focus area in this fine exercise could be creating space before receiving the ball and the attacker's positioning in the correct angle.
First, the coach demonstrates the exercise and points out the focus areas. The exercise is done in two segments of 4 - 5 minutes, where the break is used to coach the players. Remember to move the two far cones to the other side, allowing the players to change direction. If a pass is not successful, it is important that the players "damage control" as much as possible, so that the pattern of the build up - play can be restored quickly.
